Camp starts today and the most current and official team outlet I know of, link in below skeet, is the same that it has been since Saturday. I know the Caps traditionally release any camp info as late as possible but the morning of, barley 3 hours before camp is scheduled to start, is pushing it

I guess an angle to consider is they’re a cap team for the next few years because of Ovi and Backstrom/Oshie, so they’re gonna spend the money anyway and the kids are cheap, but if that’s the case then let’s get stupid. Bring in Stamkos or Guentzel, hell get Crosby too so he can play with Guentzel

Maybe the team doesn’t think there’s a middle 6 scoring forward amongst Dube, Frank, Snively, etc, but I do wish they’d give it a real shot. The team has done good when the kids have been injury fill ins, so why reward two Calder Cups with news that you’ll be there again because your spot is gone?

But as it stands there’s no room for Miro, which seems like a mistake even if he is waiver exempt. I don’t get Mangiapane or Thompson in particular since you’ve already got a lot of cheap goalies. Sure Mangiapane should help scoring, which is sorely needed, but I’d like to at least try some Bears

There’s an explainer for Matt Roy on the Rink that was helpful. If someone had described Roy as Niskanenesque then I would have been more amenable up front. Chychrun and PLD are the sort of moves I expected, not loading up on depth at the cost of seeing what is viable in Hershey
