I always vote too because I believe it does make a difference. But the donations? Nah. There should be a federal budget for this and if the candidate runs out of $$ they lose. It shows the general public how well the candidate can manage money

Part of me resonates with your wish. But even assuming there was any way we could implement such a system at this point, I have to say that a bigger part of me believes that candidates should be free to spend whatever they can raise. Is this a "money=free speech" glibertarian point of view? (1/3)
