18. Brian McCann -less heralded than fellow mid-'05 callup Jeff Francoeur, he ended up lapping him and then some in terms of career value. His '06 .333/.388/.572 at 22 was insane - were he not a catcher, his career would have had a tinge of disappointment. But nobody expects Cs to do that every year

Settled into being a .270 w/power hitting, pitch-framing master. Is hitting 18-26 HRs for 12 straight years some sort of record? His career was foreshortened in the AL once the defensive shift came into vogue...he was thrown out on line drives to short RF dozens of times. Gomez knew BMac was right.
