My current sketchbook is filling with flowers. It's interesting how you can land on a theme for a while. Right now, I'm enjoying all the blooms in our gardens and playing with bright colors and collage.

You are making me hungry. I love using my herbs any way I can think of. Rosemary on roasted potatoes, chocolate mint "tea", I put pineapple sage, mint, and lemon basil in with my smoothie. I read you can make blue ink from borage. Still need to try it.

Oh, man, shade gardening is a different beast, but it also opens the door to cool new plants. Just be sure to pull the mulberry sprouts early. They are tough to get out once they take purchase.

I donated blood this morning. I am one of 15% of the population that is CMV antibody negative, so my blood can be used in neonatal treatments. I'm also 0- so I have the universal blood type.

Playing with Cyan, magenta and yellow Bic gelocity pens and my radishes. It went from chilly to scorching hot this "spring." The spinach is already going to seed, but I have gotten some radishes.

I don't hate them or love them. I think they are helpful when you are getting started to give you direction. I also think they can make you think there are "limits and rules" that aren't real and may even stop you from trying something different and unique that's of great value.

Hello Magicada! I had to head up to Russell Woods for a visit with magic. #cicada 17 year cicadas. It's strange and fascinating and only lasts a few weeks, then this brood dies off, leaving behind eggs that will hatch and move underground for 17 years.
