The best part is being able to say "it's the guy from [show]" in the alt text so that people who don't recognize the character can still figure it out

Very true. I force myself to describe images to improve my writing. Writing more improves your writing. The too long, didn't read of it, is that I've suffered cognitive impairments; I'm currently in cognitive recovery(to see what that looks like, read what I wrote here nearly a year ago). ALTtext
