I actually prefer the theatrical release of Kingdom of Heaven, largely for pacing reasons, but I think it's useful to see the director's cut once for context.

The theatrical cut seemed nonsensical to me. Also the very long extended cut of Heaven’s Gate turned one of the worst films of all times into a pretty damn good one.
