It's still an issue though, especially when you get in to highway driving and towing it gets even more significant of an issue.

mhm. so is the wasted energy. almost like different solutions for different use cases are good i know very few people who are doing the majority of their driving while towing. and on highway? drive a reasonable speed and use cruise control... the efficiency is pretty average. ask how i know...
