This is Chips Ravenhome, a hume (just like you and me) summoner. Summoners are magi who can only channel their mana for minor spells light a ball of light or to act as a mana battery. So they make bonds with spirit beings called Aions and give them mana for service. Chips is ambitious.

Chips has been a mercenary for a while, and joins with Seven and Etta to get out of the nowhere town he got left in when his last contract ended. Chips is an Ishtar worshipper and has a complicated relationship with his sexuality because he has never had a hume lover, and feels bad for it.
