105 miles down, 228 miles to go. Just grabbing a coffee and bite to eat on the banks of Cromarty Firth. At The Storehouse.

Found this day, 10th July 2018. A complete copper alloy medieval key. The key has a projecting tip and a bit with a cleft cut into either side. The stem is attached to the bow with a moulding. The bow is circular in shape. Medieval AD1150-1300

Athough we couldn't get to Lyness Naval Cemetry, we have however been a few times before. The last being on the 100th anniversary. Where a short service was held at the wreck site (Scapa Flow), the cemetry and finally a full service at St Magnus Cathederal, Kirkwall.

9th July 1917 HMS Vanguard was destroyed following a catastrophic explosion, whilst at anchor on Scapa Flow. 843 souls perished, along with my GG uncle, Henry (Kiff) Metcalf. Sadly we can't get to the cemetery today to pay our respects, but we will be there in spirit πŸ˜”
