I think it might help to just do what you enjoy instead of treating each platform like it's a job? Like go to Cara to SEE the art, and maybe share if you feel like it. It's ok to be the user sometimes, rather than the creator everywhere, you know?

I have my own website, but it doesn't see much traffic. We're definitely at the whim of these big platforms, but I feel like diversification is the key. I'm on Patreon, Ko-fi, itchio, the Unity Asset Store, and more. Spread yourself around and one bad platform can't kill you.

I'm seeing some people miss the point of the saying "art is a luxury item" to mean no one should have access to any art period. When it means: "you can't demand people to work for free to recieve customized work." It does not mean: "we should scrub art out of the public view." Artist need to eat.

For Patreon, you don't need to report your pledges pre-fees. You're effectively a subcontractor. Patrons pay Patreon, Patreon takes care of VAT and everything, then gives you a payment. That payment is what you report, not all the other stuff Patreon is doing.
