Yeah, I try my best not to crap on the people who start celebrating every big holiday two to three months in advance, but this is why.
I. ๐๐ข๐ฉ๐. Christmas. (And Halloween too, for that matter.) The trickle-back effect (which seems like some evil capitalist plot) doesn't make it better.

I can't even imagine which one I'd prefer: tap is play/pause and long hold is skip, or tap is skip and long hold is play/pause. Either way seems like I'd find some really annoying use cases.

I give Trek some grief, but Wars is the one where Natalie Portman had a magic button on the dashboard of her fancy starship that literally did whatever the hell they wanted to do right then and there. ๐

Big Bro and I managed to save/transcribe/scan almost everything we ever did (writing, art, photos, our games/programs we transferred to DSK emulator filesโฆ), but I have a list of (at the moment) exactly 61 items I might plausibly do a murder for hire if someone could find, say, the top five for me.

Even those of us who know (hi there ๐โinquisitive kids who were into enough Western fantasy that we looked up the real life versions to see how they worked) really, truly don't care, largely because the vestigial plutocratic cosplay of another country's sociopolitical scene is largely irrelevant.

Saw a "Quote your earliest drawing vs now" prompt and, well, it kinda feels like cheating for me to do it.
The earliest drawing I still have is from when I was ๐ฐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ. Then, completely out of the blue, I redid it ๐ฐ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ. (I'm glad I did. He died the year after that.)

And it's not that I ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฅ to be the center of attention (my dad really did; jarringly so, in some cases). It's more just that I really enjoy it when I'm the center of attention ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ something cool I do, and I don't like parties in general, so that at least makes up for having to be at a party.

I'd love to say "strangely" but I'm aiming to be very honest here, and it's ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ข๐ต ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ "strange," more just obvious when I take a step back: I have zero interest in being at parties that are not, in some way, "about" me (a cast party when I'm a lead, awards where I'm nominated, a party for/by meโฆ).

I'm (thankfully) so far away from ever hearing these sorts of conversations that when I was introduced to the phrase (literally just now, by this post) my first thought was: "Like, when one partner loves the other one a ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ต more than the other loves the one? Yeah, I've been on both sides of that."

One of the things I love about big corporate clients who decide I'm "just a little guy"โmy contracts have payment due dates and spelled-out late fees. They sign and then try to say "Oh, we're Net30!" and I point to what they signed and say "I'm not. Looking forward to seeing that check on Tuesday."

I don't genuinely advocate violence, especially when there's any good alternative.
However, I find it a little difficult to identify with any mind that thought this sort of thing would be "far-fetched" in 2021. (๐๐ง๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ the first term?!)
I was already thinking how necessary it might become in ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฑ.

Which is why none of them point out the "emperor" (read: career criminal and douchebag) is "nude" (read: should be nowhere ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ an election, let alone any government office), because then they have to (probably pretty easily) drum him the fuck out of politics and the junkies wouldn't get their hits.

Functional political systems are *supposed to be* boring! It should be sewage specialists arguing over what size pipe is most efficient for the city layout! It should be debates over whether to put a mural or a frieze in the new park!

Skimming quickly, I initially misread "the lack of humor" as "it's like a mirror" and, well, yeah, it's all too ironic and plausible that this was some kind of inverted Freudian slip where I read into someone's writing the meaning they actually ๐ด๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ญ๐ฅยด๐ท๐ฆ written behind what they wrote.

Given the variety of weird flexible things I can do with my tongue, I imagine I'd be able to do some particularly cool things if I got it split, but I am entirely and wholly averse to doing that. (No judgment on the practice for others; just pure squeamishness toward most body mods for myself.)

I swear these are people who would wake up in a hospital during the zombie apocalypse, see a fire alarm box that says "In case of emergency break glass," break the glass and then fold their arms with a smug: "Well, I've done my part."
No, I didn't "skip" any part where they actually pull the alarm.

Always thought it was a silly aphorism, yeah. You can compare literally ๐ข๐ฏ๐บ two things to each other, and it's pretty easy to come up with better examples of "two things that are really not very alike at all" than "these two different rather common round fruits."

That right there feels like the inevitable perversion of anything capitalism gets its hands on: something that could, in fact, have some real, useful, comforting and sustaining results in certain contexts will be boxed up and sold to the masses to make a quick buck and turn that idea into a joke.

I guessโฆ? But "talking to" the dead with a ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ณ๐ฅ ๐ฑ๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐บ making up responses seems like the charlatan "medium" mania of the early 2000s all over again. They lied (for money), derailing the grieving process.
