To elaborate why this is a big deal for me. I have never played D&D. Things never materialized for all sorts of reasons (work, school, etc.). I have tried, but in the end I found the interminable talk of previous characters and sessions at session 0 and such to be discouraging.

I felt left out. “Look how close we are” was the theme, yet I had never rolled a d20. It felt like a spotlight narrowing on my lack of exp, and not once was the veteran group of close friends down to deal with a neurodivergent noob. I just wanted to get into the thing, not grokking the session 0.
