I can envision that even as unique as the show was, but ugh, that that dooms a show that ran 4 years is such a collective loss. There's a fantastic overlooked show sitting there for the few who know it exists. Michael Bay produced, killer Toby Stephens performance, etc.

IIRC, Starz had been on a bad streak at that point of dramas that seemed a lot more interested in flash and sex than good storytelling, and the first few eps of that seemed to be heading in the same direction. Guilt by association on top of a slow start.
