Yeah, I guess it doesn't, AND you could even have it turn into an anthology type series and even replicate the changing of styles. Aside: I've heard the Marvel movies called adaptations, and I would say they absolutely aren't.

Some are, some aren't, more than others? Most are partial adaptations of three things at once, which can be fun.
