I guess in most places its just - get as much heat out of the house during cool nights/days - but its very possible to end up cooling down the house so much that you need to bundle up inside for days or turn on the heater. If you need test subjects for a system I'm game @kevinjkircher.com!

Interesting. If I understand you correctly, you'd like an ERV/HRV that adjusted ventilation rates to take advantage of cool outdoor air on summer nights, to pre-cool the home in anticipation of the hot day to come, but only to a point - not so much that the home becomes uncomfortably cool?
