I reviewed Ultraman: Rising for @ign.bsky.social Folks, it's a forerunner for being one of the best animated movies of 2024. What's more, it defiantly rejects the notion that family-friendly films can only be an unambitous extension of a long-running franchise.

I appreciate the intent here, but this Digiday piece feels largely incomplete. Like what they're saying here is mostly correct, but it's also only around 10% of the story

Wrote about Persona's messy history with queerness, and how small changes under new leadership in Persona 3 Reload made it more queer-friendly. For the first time, I'm hopeful this series might take the next step in Persona 6. Not holding my breath, but I'm holding onto hope.

Jim Spanfeller beautified The Onion office today by arranging for the removal of putrid pro-union signs that had previously desecrated the walls. Offices should be blank, windowless, and ideally crumbling to remind employees that they are trapped in a tomb of management's making.
