Sarah Longwell reports that in her post-debate focus group of Clinton-Biden voters, three said they can't vote for Biden now. They aren't voting Trump. They just won't vote. Extrapolate that out over the swing states and you're talking thousands of people, far more than Trump needs to win.

The discussion about persuading Biden. To offer a counterpoint to the yes-men he's surrounded himself with. But mostly it continues to be astonishing that folks believe it will be easier to shut up the entire media and millions of voters with concerns than to ask Biden to do the right thing.

I think Biden and his team need to start asking themselves what four months of every single public appearance being treated as a competency test is going to feel like, and how that ends. Because I don't see it stopping--there's no magic moment on the horizon that simply puts the whole thing to rest.

This is fair. I’m not a billionaire but I stopped making donations once the party decided it would not campaign on expanding the court. I made this decision a couple years ago and I’ve been consistent. No need to get upset here. Money drives this country.

Of course the media isn’t treating this fairly. It’s a FOR PROFIT industry. For us to expect that to change NOW is delusional on our part. Especially….when the one question I get asked by people NOT on social media is: You guys don’t have ANYONE else that can beat the guy with a felony?

In an election where policy doesn’t matter to one side, it’s important for us to be able to communicate why electing a Democrat is better for their family. To this point, Biden has already lost the narrative. He cannot get it back, as EVERYTHING he does gets viewed through window of age.

One question — it came up on Pod Save — is why Biden's team wanted an early debate, if they didn't think he was doing well. Unfortunately, one answer could be, "Because they know he's going downhill and worried he'd be much worse in the fall."
