My paper is out as a preprint! 🥳

Analysing sediment-discharge events in the Ötztal Alps, Austria 🇦🇹 we identified 4 key event types: rainfall-melt extremes, glacier/snow melt events, freezethaw-modulated events, late season glacier melt 🏔️

Best advice I've been given: 1. Always keep your audience in mind 2. Focus on communicating your key message throughout the paper 3. It's the editing that makes an ok paper into a great paper

Norway on COP28 Foreign Minister: historic agreement which means “we, with European partners, must work for a faster transition of all energy. Use and production are necessarily linked”. Energy Minister: “the agreement won’t impact Norway. Europe is going to need a lot of energy going forward.”

The Global Carbon Project's fossil CO₂ emissions dataset has been updated, data 1750-2022. This is preparatory to our full Budget release in a couple of weeks where we will present our estimates for 2023.

I came across this passage in a paper commenting on climate change policy from 1998 recently. Not sure what I find worse, that nations acted too late out of negligence or as a planned strategy.
