Just a note that this 30k includes militants, and that the total civilian value was revised downwards yesterday, to a ratio of civilians:combatants that is actually pretty darn low

I read this and was bewildered and amazed and decided to check out the source, Quds News. Apparently they are affiliated with Hamas and have been banned from TikTok, Twitter, and Meta. I'm not sure I trust it...

I'm also interested in knowing when Hamas offered to surrender. My understanding is that they prefer to remain in absolute power, as they have for some time now.

If they wanted to commit genocide, they could do so tomorrow, with the arms that they currently have at their disposal. The ratio of combatants killed to civilians killed is on par with typical urban warfare numbers. The use of the word genocide in this context waters down its meaning.

Not true. Only the armed conflicts in which one side's goal is to wipe another country and people off the map. This is actually relatively rare. And in this case it would not lead to genocide, since not all Palestinians are Hamas.
