That's what I do too. I never mess with the difficulty settings. If a game is hard, I enjoy the process of learning and improving. Not saying OP is wrong to play on easy, but I don't understand the appeal.

Luigi's Mansion 4 idea: Luigi realizes Boos are really demons that look like deceased people to erode our faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Reminds me of Demetri Martin's joke about the mythical creature that only exists if you don't believe in it. Same kind of logical tomfoolery (I like it).

I don't know what you mean by "the Gatsby thing," but in my experience, "Challenging literature is classist" usually means "I am a teenager and I don't want to do my English homework."

Can you possibly do something about the conflict in Gaza? Find a resolution with minimal loss of human life? Maybe keep those shambling fascist cadavers out of the oval office? Ooh, I feel so naughty...

Yes, actually! They both sold about five million, iirc. DKC Returns outsold Zelda on Wii.

Touchscreens are the most Adamsian thing in the modern world. We removed nice, tactile keypads to make our phones look more futuristic, but we make them vibrate a little when we touch them to pretend the keys we removed are still there.

I think I might like it but I have strong reservations about that ring-based battle system. If they really didn't want to bring back the battle system everyone likes, they should've just had real-time combat, y'know?

Why attack the books? Why not fuck up the dean's office or something? Their fellow students are going to need those books. I'm all for being a shit for a good cause, but you've got to be smart about it.

When I was in high school in the mid noughties, it was Brave New World or nothing. At least none of my teachers mocked the genre (that didn't happen until college).

Saw a theory that dog food is sometimes marketed this way because it doubles as affordable food for very low-income people. I hope that's not true because it kind of makes me want to die.

That's fair, but you gotta admit it would've been cooler if every dimension had its own crazy art style!
Thoughts on Origami King? I skipped that one.

I did finish it! I just think I'd enjoy it lots more if it looked more like Thousand-Year Door, or if the cubism was limited to one dimension.

Right? Even the classic cape-and-tights American-style superhero predates World War II. And Captain America analogues from other cultures absolutely exist. I don't think this dude knows what he's talking about!

I like the original, Thousand-Year Door and Color Splash. Super had good gameplay, but I didn't love the cubist art direction.

I didn't know the original comic was about Adderall specifically. Maybe I saw a version without it. I thought it was making a broader point about parents medicating away their children's personalities.

There's nothing wrong with calling that a miracle. Or calling it magic, like a library. I don't know why people suddenly have such beef with figurative language.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa, Kevin. 10+ years ago in Houston, I saw an old dude in a wheelchair wearing a WWII veteran cap. I wanted to thank him for his service, but couldn't work up the gumption. I regret it now.

You don't enjoy Gatsby because you like the characters. Of course they're awful, that's why it's tragic that Gatsby wants so badly to be a part of their doofy rich dipshit club. And that's America, old sport.

And it's affecting young people! I work in a public high school (not as a teacher) and the kids think I'm being unreasonable when I expect them to know about stuff from before they were born, even major stuff like the Watergate scandal or the movie Jaws.

That's exactly what I did, too. I learned so much from Looney Tunes and Disney cartoons! Whenever someone complains that something in kids' media "isn't relevant to kids today," I die a little inside.

I was actually taught this as fact by my dad, who isn't particularly religious. He said that men having fewer ribs than women is where the Bible story came from. It's gotta be a pretty pervasive misconception.
