i have never seen a marketing bit run something faster into the ground than the brat charli xcx cover. there was maybe a slight ounce of difference there at first. then it was taken, repeated at a rate & scale that is well beyond the art's means, until it means nothing. all in what.. 2 weeks?

deritualizing something semi-unique (by mainstream pop standards) so that it can be sold, and its consumption generalized, replicated until it loses all meaning. though who am i to assume that this product was not made to be sold & consumed as just that - a product. maybe this was the end goal
