like yes i look back at the gameboy advanced fondly because i like its form factor and i think it has an interesting library as the last mainstream 2D handheld. i sometimes play it on commutes. am i "nostalgic" for the 2000s? no i dont miss being looked at like i personally flew the plane on 9/11

i feel like people misunderstand nostalgia as a blanket praising of an entire timeframe instead of a celebration of the things that made that time different, for better or for worse. i also cannot remember any point in time that didnt suck so i feel like thats always moot.

when something old that had its meaning semi determined by its difference comes back and is used as an accessory by ppl who will cling onto anything that has an identity i always wonder if that difference gets lost or it merely gets stuffed down further, only to come back once ppl have moved on

seeing the worth of old clothing change over time has been so interesting. i have some jnco and fubu clothing from when i was a kid that is probably worth 5 times what it was worth not even 3 years ago. its interesting seeing what bubbles back up to the top and what floats in semi-revived territory

nostalgia aside i think the simplicity of habbo is what makes it so effective. you can change your clothes somewhat, and there's furniture. you can dance. but aside from that you just talk. no voice chat. find a room, sit down & join a convo. and theyre usually boring. but its refreshing <3
