the mask ban isn't even a new thing, but before it was full-face masks like mascot heads and other such things. the excuse then was it was a counter to the KKK, but that hasn't been the case for decades and instead was literally to allow racial profiling.

this wasn't restricted to AC, but heating as well. there were AC systems in place, but the breakers were under lock and key. the HOA had to physically come out and flip the AC for you. average indoor temperature in the summer was 80F+. their argument was "open a window, you lazy fucks"

HOAs are basically a miniature dictatorship. i had to live under an HOA for a few months, and they had a limit on how much AC could be used across the entire community. there was a SCHEDULE for which address could use AC, and only for a total of 2 hours per week.
