like I REGRET NOTHING Lavender Con was amazing, getting to meet and talk with so many folks on Saturday was wonderfulโand brunch with @urbanbohemian.com was really refreshing and needed on Sunday!
but this is definitely why I need big breaks between convention-sized events ๐

me yesterday: oh hey I managed to do two days of convention stuffs, I feel alright. maybe I'm just making a big deal out of my pain levels and it's actually not as bad asโ
me today: standing hurts, brain fog is bad, and my spine is UPSETTI SPAGHETTI.

And thatโs it for Lavender Con! Did I buy many books? And see a surprising number of folks? And have a lot of fun? Yes, yes I did ๐
(Shh yes thatโs my bed Iโm but a simple, sleepy introvert and didnโt have the energy to find a better background ๐)

I hate getting pre-nervous for things!
I'm going to a convention on Saturday in DC (if you're at Lavender Con this weekend, say hi!) and my brain is anxious because I haven't been around many people in a while so it's just dissociating all of today and tomorrow ๐

until Monday, I have no writing projects to work onโon purpose, by design. I allocated half a week of rest and recharge.
my brain is like ??? where writing? and is just coming up with novel ideas. I've brainstormed two fantasy book ideas and unearthed an older cyberpunk idea, oh no.

yesss I think that's a perfect explanation (and I love that genre of music so much haha), it just encapsulates sapphic angst (and spite and frustration) so well

did I just submit a short story with like a couple hours to spare in the submission window? yes, yes I did. and I'm proud of the piece, it was a bit out of my comfort zone in genre (didn't really have speculative elements)๐

My novel is not part of an "asexual trend." If asexuality appears more frequently in recent books, it's a market correction as forces of erasure lose a little of their hegemony, and people who needed these stories finally get them.
Our existence isn't a trend.

thank you! I'm honestly really emotional about it because I've never let myself finish a draft of a novel beforeโperfectionism and that like former gifted kid bullshit combo of "it must be brilliant" when that's not how the process works haha. so I feel really good about it, and sleepy! ๐

me waking up like ?? I've been hyperfocused on this for weeks. it's done?!
revisions are a huge next step but it's a different focus and pace. IT'S NEAT but also that feeling after speedreading a bookโsilence and "now what."
now I keep going! after a tiny three-day break to finish a short story ๐
