it's this sort of thing that makes me doubt the usefulness of the term 'fascism' as a thing-in-itself as so much of existing European fascism was on some level bringing colonial violence back to Europe and doing it against white people - this is most explicit in the Spanish Civil War...

where the bloodthirstiness of the Nationalist forces under Franco was because they were literally the enforcers of Spanish rule in Morocco and brought the nasty tactics, including many Arab Moroccan mercenaries, and the conception of the enemy as subhuman, back to Spain
