. “An image is the making-one, the making-itself-one of something. This ‘one’ is not unity as opposed to multiplicity: it is the possibility that anything at all, including something multiple or fluid, may come to presence;” —Jean-Luc Nancy, The Ground of the Image . Kazuyuki Futagawa

Aha yes, it was hand-tinted per the description—not sure if that is accurate. I can’t tell the difference between autochrome and hand-tinted by eye when the latter is done well but I do love autochrome photography, it produces such a nice palette.

. “I believe that that extraordinary commandment, according to which, in a land of masters, we observe one day out of seven without work . . . that suspension, that emptiness, clearly introduces into human life the sign of a gap, a beyond relative to every law of utility.” —Lacan . Ernst Leijden

* WINTER SONG As beautiful as fire Pulsing in the still sunset, Ardent, golden. As beautiful as sleep Breathing inside a chest, Alone, hidden. As beautiful as silence Vibrating in kisses, Winged, sacred. — Luis Cernuda
