Suella is actually a Triratna Buddhist. Fun fact about that particular Buddhist order, one of its most enthusiastic Indian advocates saw it as a solution to India's caste problems - if you have no Muslims and no Hindus, but a New & Improved Buddhism, no caste!
That's interesting, given how Steve Bell was sacked from the Guardian for alleged Hindu-phobia when he drew a cartoon of her as a bull (aftermath of her bullying accusations). Maybe Kath Viner should take him back?
I do find that aspect of her fascinating. She's from an originally Indian family, who'd moved to Kenya and Mauritius, then to the UK, and is married to a Jewish man and converted to (weird) Buddhism. She's like a one-person paean to multiculturalism other than the things she says.
Didn't know that (actually might have forgotten it) but was thinking more widely of your "not all people who think that are white".
Could add Sikhs and Jews, obviously.
