I’m so sorry, people just don’t get it. My spouse immigrated here because it’s not only illegal for us to get married in their home country, but I’d have very limited rights or legal status living there, even with permanent residency. Who wants a choice between a rock and a hard place?

We couldn’t have moved my husband to the UK even if we’d wanted to, because of income and employment requirements, and I’d never have asked him to leave his job for that anyway.
