No student left behind plus the educational consensus that the point of public education is to prepare people for college will lead to that. Eventually this will probably be literally true.

the pipeline has always just been to prepare people mostly for office work anyway, but a sentence? maybe they'll continue discouraging college since you'll only need to work a prompt or be at a factory job when you're 12
