It's something I've dealt with my entire life, where people will mispronounce my real name despite it not being at all complicated and having it written down right in front of them or having heard me introduce myself with it 30 seconds earlier.

It doesn't even have to be verbal. People will respond to a short email from me with my name right there in both the signature and the email address by misspelling my name. Which, again, is not particularly complicated nor does it have a "unique" spelling. I'm not a Makayla.
