I know it's somehow my fault, but huge swathes of my feed is now US election based. Obviously I'm v.interested in the decline of empire and self immolation, being a brit and all, but I need to magic it back to like-minded halfwits going on about stupidly obscure records for my own sanity.

+1 on that. I had a similar tech despairphany on the advent of commercial 3D printing: first thing anyone did was to print and joy-post about guns. Not water filtration devices or stuff that might be useful at scale. Guns.
