I'm glad it's not just me. I was feeling guilty for hesitating a bit over one book with beautiful artwork, that gave a lively and well-researched account of how important forest protection is for biodiversity in South America. But it showed a family of tapirs -- parents and three young.

Across four tapir species worldwide, only two or three examples of twins have been documented in the past century -- and no triplets. I am trying to rationalize this as two females, with one and two babies respectively (and maybe one is an orphan who became attached).
