They did a debate. It is a little silly how surprised they were, but weren't we all a little surprised? I think most party loyalists right now would still be very comfortable with a second Biden term, but the concern is with the new optics driving away voters. Seems like a valid concern to me

The only reasons we are no longer gifted are 1) we hang out with each other now (small fish, big pond, etc), 2) existential dread made us drink, and 3) it's hard to maintain superiority in gardening, parenting, welding, embroidery, french patisserie, rhetoric/debate, finance and also our real job!

I wish people understood the level of expertise in these agencies (as compared to Joe Schmo legislator/judge). The world gets more complicated all the time and companies increasingly are the only ones who have the money to understand it. Stripping government expertise from the process is very bad.

I have a Necchi from like, 1948 and it is a monster that will sew through anything, including leather which was my kid's Halloween costume a couple years back. I wish more people could use them so they aren't all just sitting around as decor! (Piano issue also I suppose).

Nothing is more annoying than "will you be sending out the slides?" The practice drives bad presentations because presenters start feeling like everything should be on the slides. If the speaker thinks you need summary materials, they will send out summary materials!

Hennesy was also a legal aid attorney which is equally awesome. I was clerking for the another judge in chambers when she first started as a judge and concur with all the good stuff the article says about her. This is a great appointment. If only power distribution worked like this more often...

Counterpoint: I am a gringa but I speak Spanish. Even with names of Hispanic people it feels like a code switch to pronounce them correctly when speaking in English. lf I don't have "permission" to speak Spanish with this person, the accent seems inappropriate. I felt that with my name abroad too.

I wish someone would actually look into this. Seems that in 2018 and 2023 he won similar titles by 1) challenging the actual winner long after the tournament was over and 2) using a score from days before the tournament started as his starting score. More cheater verification, please!
