A year ago today, I lost my spouse. That I knew it was going to happen didn’t make it an iota easier. It’s been a complicated and weird and distressing time. I’m feeling lost and sad tonight, and not knowing what to do, I am watching one of her favorite movies, Flash Gordon.

I remember most of the OTA ones circa 1992: VHF: 2 (CBS), 5 (NBC), 7 (ABC), 9 (WGN), 11 (PBS) UHF: 20 (PBS), 26 (Univision), 32 (Fox), 38 (religious), 44 (Telemundo), 50 (ind.), 60 (home shopping), 66 (ind.) We had cable, but I can’t remember the channel numbers.

First Father’s Day as a surviving spouse, and it’s hard. Not because I’m into Father’s Day so much as there’s so much happening around this time: my kid’s birthday in a few days; my spouse’s yahrzeit soon after; taking my kid on a trip in a few weeks. So much to think about, and even more to do.
