When someone says "not a luxury indulgence," in this context, they are giving you credit for being able to contrast their statement with your point, like an answer to the question you posed, even. You can definitely choose not to follow the conversation, but at what point is the obtuseness willful?

Irrelevant. Sushi still serves a very important utilitarian need for a great many people, some of whose lives historically depended on it. It has a demonstrable use. A Cybertruck does not; it is *entirely*indulgent. And it also looks ridiculous.
