I have two former friends who are now deep into MAGA land and I know they probably touch themselves reading the Project 2025 playbook. We have to understand there’s an alarming number of people who will see it as not just a good thing, but their ultimate fantasy.
It's also insane that none of them actually want to live in the world, and by the rules, they're creating. They just want everyone to think they do. Their politics are as performative as their Christianity.
How conservative were they before 2016? Has it been a slow or rapid decline?
I saw a definite radical turn among conservative (former) friends in 2008, incl conservative parents at school functions saying openly racist things.
But certain folks who knew to keep quiet let it fly in 2016.
There’s a bunch of tradcaths out there who will be quite surprised should the unthinkable happen. Their support won’t mean much when the EVs and Baptists are in charge.
