At its core, the reason publishers are going after the Internet Archive isn't that its actions have lost money for authors. It's that publishers want to delegitimise the concept of owning a digital copy of something.
So how will those people who aren't based in the countries publishers are from get access to digital copy of any book? It is an idealistic thinking, I don't think they can achieve what they want, and at sites like Internet Archive, people can borrow books as they borrow in real world's libraries.
