I wish "Without Limits" were streaming somewhere. JUST left Tubi. Fortunately, I have the DVD. Truly a great movie. Robert Towne directs the hell out of the running scenes. Billy Crudup is top-notch throughout, expertly cocky and yet comprehensible empathetic. And Donald Sutherland? Perfection.

"Chinatown" is one of the five greatest screenplays ever written. "The Last Detail" and "Shampoo" are impeccable snapshots of their moment.

But also... "Personal Best" is a great ahead-of-its-time sports movie and "Without Limits" is, for me, a real under-the-radar all-timer.

A titan. #RIP

That's the thing! We've kinda decided Gavin Newsom looks presidential, despite the fact that, if you look at our history of presidents, he doesn't really look like anybody who's ever been president other than Andrew Jackson. And that didn't end well.

My review (www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-review...), which was based on the first three or four episodes, was a bit "It's good, but Is this all there is?" Season 2 made my Top 10 for its year.

TV networks and whatnot take money from legalized sports gambling concerns. Baseball players take extra TV money to do in-game, on-field interviews. In-game, on-field interviews cause players to make dumb errors in the field. These things almost certainly aren't actually connected and yet...
