Personally though, not a bad result. Party I campaign for (Scottish Greens) didn’t get anyone elected, but increased our vote share across the board. And the constituency I campaigned in got the best result for us in the country. So personally good. The rest… we’ll well see what Labour does.

What’s really making me unhappy though is that they’re not unjustified for centring Reform - they got over twice as many votes as the Greens. Which aside from showing us once again that FPTP is broken (much as I hate to say it in this case), means the left has a lot of work to do to counter them.

Pleased to see the Tories get a kicking, disappointed to see that it wasn’t bigger. Pleased to see the Greens getting 4 seats, disappointed to see Reform getting 4 seats (although very pleased it wasn’t the projected 13) - at current count that is, of course. It could still all change…

This could end up being a good thing for the Independence movement, maybe. In the long run. I’m not really sure what the SNP have been offering any more, aside from “not Westminster” - which isn’t enough. They need to get some sort of vision back, and maybe this’ll be what forces them to do so.

Yup. No idea if that’s what’s happened - certainly I know I’m in my own little bubble. But I do know that enthusiasm for the SNP certainly collapsed, and even giving them the benefit of the doubt, following that.

I’d say it’s definitely something to do with abandoning the left. I mean, the SNP are a broad church, but to keep the furthest right elements of their party happy they’ve lost the left. They’ve tried too hard to keep the money and the bigots happy, and they’ve lost the vision they once had.

The night of the referendum was a month or so before the Conjunx was coming over to visit from Singapore (this was in our early days, of course), and she’d picked me up some toys, which I owed her money for. I watched in real-time that evening as the amount I owed her went up…

Yeah, certainly not an RRR beater, but an interesting story, and some really good world building and design. I did however message the Conjunx during the interval, told her I wasn’t sure if it’d stick the landing, and I’d see how the second half goes. And. Er. Yeah. I didn’t know it was a part 1.

Appreciated though. If people see numbers for other parties go up then they’ll be more inclined to vote that way in the future. It’s a slow, annoying battle… but hopefully worth it. (Though I totally get the anxiety.)
