“We can not have a clearer ask for the off-campus Jewish community: stay off our campus. Do not fund any actions on campus. Do not protest on campus. Your actions are harming Jewish students.”
“We are simply…Jewish, Zionist-identifying students who live on campus and don't get to leave when the protest is over. It is our friends on the other side of the barricade--who in this moment, we disagree with but respect as fellow students--that were physically hurt.”
What a strange time we are living in. I wonder if seeing Zionism motivating others to be violent will affect them in any way. No matter what, they are right. They deserve to be safe on their campus, and the outside "help" only hurts them.
Hillel continues to antisemitically conflate Zionism and Judaism and presume themselves to be the baselessly-self-appointed arbiters of Jews and Judaism.
Someone wanna remind Hillel of that Commandment about false idols, and the one about "bearing false witness" ? They weren't "Suggestions".
A group that explicitly excludes anti-Zionist Jews claiming the mantle of campus Jewish leadership when actual Jewish student leaders are in the protest encampment is… not great.
