When we were all in one place, it worked. Much like streaming not working with so many players in the market, social media be broken up into so many different platforms means we'll never have the same "Townhall" again.

communities of specific interest still exist, though, and thrive. I'm a pinball fanatic, and there is an enormous community on Pinside.com, as well as many active Discord servers for subcommunities within that fandom. Specialization is where it started, and where it's rapidly - RAPIDLY - swinging.
