BUT if you look at the first page, you see that it bears the Exlibris of ... Gösta Mittag-Leffler, famous for launching the Acta Mathematica in the 1880s ! So even the modern mathematicians owned what we now see as largely outdated textbooks of the previous generations ... and maybe worked with it?
