I'm pretty sure my dad "lost" clients by having to break the news to them that "I don't 'have' the money anymore" is not a valid tax deduction on its own. You can *give* money to someone else up to a certain point without **paying** taxes on it, but that doesn't remove your tax burden on the money.

Probably pretty decent. He sits around and revs it a lot. Definitely a small time landlord rental house @ 800 sq ft with the owner being an “LLC” with an address a few blocks away on the water, but “only” a ~$1 million house compared to the rest that neighborhood.

My all-time favorite was the $1k+ at LabCorp 15 years ago that had "allowed charge" of <$1. This one at least is a post-deductible charge and the "allowed" is "only" reduced to 10% of the original instead of 0.01% of the original bill.
