Well, my W-L on Final Girl is now 2-4. Had a Creech Manor game vs the Poltergeist (I'm not mixing and matching until I beat a scenario) You can't kill the Poltergeist, so win-con is "find Carolyn and get out" Carolyn was in the first place I looked, 2-3 rounds. I just played a prelude to a movie

Post OblivAeon, Freedom Five has rebranded itself as the Sentinels of Freedom and, as seen above, they've mostly taken a backseat or support role for the new generation. On a meta reason, this is to spotlight the PCs of the RPG. But also it's neat seeing superheroes make reasonable mature decisions

RevoCorp in the past is a villainous corporation (duh) originally founded as a front by Baron Blade and then taken over by another villain later. It is apparently trying to distance itself from that past and employs heroes with a rep for having a hardline against corporate abuses.

Post-OblivAeon she has broken away from Freedom Five (there's mention of an argument over resurrecting Omnitron X, possibly because the FF felt it was impossible and their were more important things afoot) but there doesn't seem to be lingering bad blood. She's part of a RevoCorp backed superteam

OblivAeon attacks soon after Unity's success at resurrecting a robot AI friend of hers. During the battle, she manages to animate the largest bot she's ever managed (a godzilla-sized T-Rex) to fight some of the emanations.

Devra Thalia Caspit was technically never a member of the Freedom Five directly, but was taken on as an intern. She has technopathic powers of unknown origin enabling her to animate mechanical golems often versions of the Freedom Five, bees, or cute dinosaurs.

Post-OblivAeon he teaches heroes in Freedom Plaza. He focuses on the ethics and philosophy of being a hero, the responsibilities that the role comes with. He has an especial focus on dealing with trauma and defending personhood of ghosts, AIs, and others. He remains as fatalistic and dour as ever.

He is now confined to either a cryo chamber or his specially designed power suit. He is constantly grim and cynical, but always stands stoically to defend people and is probably the most powerful member of the Freedom Five.

Ryan Frost's life ended when his fiancee was killed by a drunk driver after they'd had a fight that was unreasonable on both sides. He took a job as a janitor at Pike Industrial Complex and while working there was caught in a chemical accident that changed his basic nature and biology.

Post-OblivAeon she has taken a more administrative classroom role, especially with science-minded heroes. She's made big strides in her recovery, but is still not where she used to be. Also, she's now focusing a lot more time with her wife. Her brush with death has them appreciating each other.

During the OblivAeon event she received massive injuries that forced her to recover for an extended time, though returned with new suit to help reinforce herself and is the one to defeat one of OblivAeon's main minions: Scion, the one that injured her.

Tachyon started out as the scientist supporting the Freedom Four (we don't have full rosters of the Freedom Four before she became a super and it became Five when Absolute Zero joined) when an accident in the lab empowered her to have super-speed.

The events of OblivAeon convinced him to finally break free from the US government completely because he couldn't trust the military to prioritize protecting innocents. Post OblivAeon he mostly teaches battlefield awareness and tactical planning at Freedom Plaza. Also, he and Wraith are dating.

Lt Tyler Vance pilots the Bunker powered suit, the latest in a line of powered armor suits produced by the US Army. Though he took the suit civilian and joined Freedom Five with it. As with the others, he was seemingly defeated and came back in a new suit to resist OblivAeon.

Yes, she's that most mythical of beings: an ethical and competent billionaire who does stuff. Mostly because she inherited and she's sending that money to help other people instead of hoarding it for no good reason.

Post OblivAeon she has focused more on her company and wealth, understanding that she does a lot more good leveraging those resources than she does going on vigilante missions. She still comes out of semi-retirement as needed, but mostly leaves that to the new generation of heroes.

She fought alongside Freedom Five in the OblivAeon event, having recently become CEO of the family company she leveraged her wealth to empower her teammates, other heroes, and civilian forces. (her variation here gives ways to give other characters card draw for more resources)

The Wraith is Maia Montgomery, Heir to a powerful corporation and native to Rook city. She became a vigilante after surviving a bad assault in college naming herself off a childhood conversation with her father about not being afraid of the dark by becoming a wraith in it.

Legacy goes by the name Felicia for the twin reasons of trying to maintain a secret ID despite her father's very public ID (since people expect the new Legacy to be Pauline Parsons)... and also so she doesn't have to go by Pauline.

As a note, the powers pass on to the first child of each generation. The devs have confirmed that this would include adoption and illegitimate children (the second seems obvious) There hasn't been an adopted child yet... that seems fun.

Post OblivAeon, Legacy retires and passes the title onto his daughter Pauline Felicia Parsons. He takes on the name Heritage and focuses on teaching new heroes in the Freedom Plaza. He is the first Legacy to retire rather than die in battle. And Legacy is first woman in the role.

Oh, side note. Baron Blade's initial mode makes the first stage of his match a race, which encourages an aggressive playstyle. There's a lot of villains where it's hard to go straight to damage, even with the MDP basically adding 12 HP to Baron Blade.

Baron Blade we start off destroying his doomsday device then beat him up. Gloomweaver's cultists gather together their relics to summon him to the world. Spite's deck feels like tracking down and stopping a serial killer with HP more representing the effort to find him than a battle with him.

And the environment adds a heavy wrinkle. Some environments are more friendly and others more hostile, but they all have some downsides to turn against you. The decks have a good sense of mechanics and making the match feel in theme to the enemy.

Also note that while every villain has two sides to their card. They all flip in different ways. Like Omnitron flips every round and Ambuscade flips based on whether he has his cloaking device in play or not. Some characters flip several times. Some only once.

Baron Blade is considered a good starter scenario (part of why I took this) but I've had him turn a fight into nail biter out of nowhere. Even the baddie from the old edition that I considered the weakest (Ambuscade) has caused me some heartache once or twice.

Now, to be clear... this was fairly lucky. We got good card draws. Even with as much card draw as we got, there was no guarantee we'd ramp up this quickly. Also, Wraith didn't have the best luck as I've seen her ramp up incredibly fast. Also, Baron Blade didn't have the best of luck.

Baron Blade takes 25 damage. 23 base and +1 for Inspiring Presence, +1 for Galvanize and Baron Blade has.... 14 HP left. And he doesn't flip a second time. That's a pretty solid win.
