The idea that “being gay/trans/anything isn’t for me but other people can do whatever the hell they want because it has literally zero effect on me” is so fundamental to reason that I can’t even believe we have to say it in 2024 CE

Same's true for religious beliefs. But since a third of our country wants to force their thoughts and practices on the rest of us, I can only assume they don't know it's 2024.
