They definitely can be tricky. This was one of the most out in the open shots of one I’ve taken.

There's a common misconception that all Black Bears are black. But in fact, Black Bears come in a range of colours including blond, brown, cinnamon, and black. Here's a Black Bear I saw recently in Waterton Lakes National Park with more of the brownish cinnamon colouring. #wildlife #bear

One of the best parts of spring is the arrival of new life. I recently had a chance to watch these young foxes come out and greet their mother with excitement as she arrived with a fresh meal. #wildlife #foxes 🦊

I found myself in Grande Prairie this week for some meetings. Instead of the direct route home, I chose to take the scenic route. While I didn't bump into some of the things I was hoping to, it was still a beautiful drive. #alberta #wildlife

"Peek" I really love the way that this Great Grey Owl's eye appears to peek over her wing as she surveys the fields below. #wildlife #owls 🪶

I was out for a walk this morning and was watching a family of moose. As I was standing there, a pair of nearby coyotes took notice of us and started barking. As you can see it certainly caught the moose's attention. #wildlife #moose

More often that not, when I find a Great Grey Owl, they are sitting on a fence post along a country road. So, it was nice to find one sitting on a broken tree in the woods last night. Always nice to capture a bit of a different look and feel than the usual photo. #birds 🪶

I'll add that I saw a lot of tourists feeding monkeys. It's actually not great for the monkeys and something I'd encourage people to reconsider: www.under30experiences.com/blog/this-is...

One of the owl species that I had yet to get a decent photo of until this past weekend was the Short Eared Owl. This beauty had just caught a meal and thankfully paused long enough for me to capture a photo. #wildlife 🪶

I'm not usually a fan of branches in my subject's face, but I actually kind of like the way these ones frame the Great Grey Owl's face. 🪶
