Couldn't wait another hour to cut into it. It's light, sweet and not very sour. 🍽

I'm confused. Rainbow lorikeets have blue heads, so why aren't there blue feathers included in this sample? Does their blue come from iridescence, or is it structural like a macaws would be? Does anyone know?

Whatever the heck this is that makes it permissible to ignore people who need help it is universal and not unique to the prarie.

Something about the conditions right now is amplifying every furnace fan, car engine, snow blower, creating this incredibly loud background noise in my normally very quiet neighbourhood.

I hated mittens on a string threaded through my sleeves as a kid and vowed I'd never live anywhere that got that cold again, but here I am. I thought about going outside for the coldest part, but I opened the front door and quickly changed my mind. Maybe I'll try tomorrow, or maybe ... never?

Ilkyū had a pet sparrow he raised from a chick. He regarded the bird as a dharma attendant. One day, sparrow died unexpectedly. In his grief, Ikkyū gave the bird a dharma name Sonrin 尊林 (“revered forest”, see below) and a proper burial. I find this moving. Translation by J. Sanford, “Zen-Man Ikkyū”

The system doesn't have that kind of perseverance built into it. It passively stands by waiting for us to get in line to ask for help. It's...less complicated, but it isn't giving us the results we need.

'93 IASPR conference a social worker from St Louise talked about asking over & over & over again, "would you like a shower & sandwich?" only to be rejected every time. Took him a year of asking before a sandwich was accepted. 1/2

I adopted a 5 yr old ragdoll who was so skinny her spine felt like speed bumps through the fur when I stroked her. Most would say ragdolls are babies, but this whip smart cat is poorly socialized/abused/timid, and no amount of encouraging "let me hear you mew like you mean it!" has worked.

I can't imagine having to worry about storms. I'm originally from Vancouver, where we're threatened with thunderstorms that never materialize. A boom or two then they're gone. It's a big let down for someone who loves a good light show.

So over the course of the night I got 4 different panorama of this Tahu-nui-ā-Rangi Aurora Australis (southern lights). Yes Kp peaked at 7, but it was the strong negative (Bz) factor that made this event insane. Up to 175° wide & 90° vertical, truly incredible

Germany does, but I keep hoping we'll progress far past that point and admit keeping them as pets was a bad idea that we need to correct.

My cat has all the stealth and grace of a slam dancer in a mosh pit. She's pacing the house and slamming her feet *bang bang bang* on the hardwood floor.

Amazon's have a really distinctive tail with bands of colour that can be seen from the underside. Could be a Yellow-faced parrot.

Hydration matters when you want to control the flavour of your sourdough. Less water will encourage acetic acid to flourish, and more water will encourage lactic acid and yeasts to grow.

The argument goes for consistency from bake to bake use bakers percentages. Nothing in the rule says it's a hard rule "You Must Follow" (tm) unless you're making something really fussy where rule bending could ruin everything.

There is a book called Chop Suey Nation that delves into Canadian style Chinese food. I remember her being interviewed and talking about one restaurant using spaghetti noodles because they couldn't get what they needed in Canada.
