Precisely this. Willingness to believe a story cuts straight through people's bullcrap filters, and a lot of bad actors exploit that. And for some reason, a lot of people LOVE to see nice celebrities fall from grace. "See! They're not perfect human beings after all!"

Problem is when insiders in the (comic) industry can confirm it's been known for years but no one has done/said anything because lack of evidence to sustain it. That's what made me believe it, but again, I have no proof, I can't quote any source, I could be as ill intended as the next one 🤷‍♂️
