I can’t say how much due diligence was done in the reporting because I can’t access it without paying money to a pro TERF organization. Which is why it being the ONLY reporting is a problem. I am NOT protecting or defending him OR even saying I don’t think he’s been a creep at the VERY least.

And there’s also a difference between “Neil Gaiman is a creep” (which seems likely at this point) and “Neil Gaiman committed actual sexual assault”. Neither of this things are good but they are not the same and one is criminal and should not be thrown around without due diligence.

Yes! He is one of my favorite authors but I am totally prepared to be disappointed in him. I have yet to see anything that looks like actual original journalism on this and now respectable outlets are repeating what the podcast said without fact checking. No context to which he supposedly said this.

Which is very valid. I’m not saying he didn’t do what he’s accused of and I’ve certainly lost respect for him and am not defending him in any way but the sourcing of the exact claims and his responses troubles me and doesn’t seem to meet journalist standards, unless I’m missing something.

This is what I’m struggling with, I have not seen high quality reporting with actual sources on this. I am on team 100% believe women and but “we understand that he said x to someone” is not reporting. If he did say that, it’s terrible! And it sounds like whisper networks have him pegged as a creep.

I’m in a hard red state, being registered Republican is literally the only way I can get a say because for almost every office the Republican primary IS the race. And you can’t get a Republican ballot without being registered as one - unlike the democratic primary which is open but meaningless.

I’m still amazed that an action movie made nearly 30 years had a main character who is a stripper and at no point is she shamed or sexualized for this by the movie. The main effect on the plot is that she’s athletic and competent enough to save herself and a bunch of other people.

I would like to note I am not intentionally breeding rabbits, they are just very sneaky and it’s hard to find someone who will get them fixed for less than a small fortune. As soon as the babes are weaned we are driving 2.5 hours to get mom and dad fixed so we don’t have any more surprises!

The best/worst thing my parents did for me was let me watch Star Trek and MASH at a very young age. For people who were hoping to raise a conservative, pro America, pro war, straight evangelical Christian tradwife, this was a glaring error in judgement for which I am eternally grateful.

Exactly. There may be a person here or there who will just decide to live off UBI but they’d be outliers. For most people it would keep them working while raising their standard of living. And it would allow people to take lower paying public service jobs and still thrive!
