Agreed, but it’s never going to happen that we start throwing the book at powerful people and simultaneously become more lenient for marginalized people

I should clarify: I think it’s highly unlikely that we start throwing the book at powerful people for rel minor crimes like falsifying business records (as opposed to, e.g., public corruption or crimes involving use of power or position of trust to harm others) while lowering sentences for others
